Been trying to get this post to take....The seventh time...
Is this where I post a new addition?? This is one confusing mother fucker. Last chance....
One more time on this.... It's been a long, long time. Just reeling from the results of last night's election. I thought that the newbies would vote down bush to save their asses from the draft. Apparently, people who don't pay income taxes, don't care. Well, hopefully it will not take 50,000 lives to get out of the Iraq mess. Only 2% more were registered, and God knows who they voted for. I didn't even recognize the Libetarian candidate on the Illinois ballot. With all the bullshit that had been published and said, you would have thought we might have known about this guy. I swear I had not even heard the name. Later...
It's been a real long time. Just surfing around my faves and noticed this. Reeling from the results of last night's election. Finished a long IM session with Phoenix. He thinks we should, "stand firm behind our leaders in times of trouble". My feeling is that this is the kind of thinking that killed 50,000 Americans a couple of decades ago. Hey, and it's the same merry band of right wing nuts who were tending the helm at that time. And, we could get three new judges on the Big Bench. Once Women's Rights are buried, we can concentrate on Civil Rights. " If I own this restaurant, I should be able to serve who I want, right?" It's funny that we cannot tolerate government in "our" lives, but boys and girls at the front are but a dime a dozen. And, those who place them in harms way are seen as "supporting the troops". I don't think I drink enough to see the sense in any of this. Got to get downstairs and see the end of THE VOICES OF IRAQ; a seat of the pants look at the everyday Iraqi. 150 digital film cameras were given to Iraqi citizens, and they were allowed to film their thoughts and feelings. Makes for compelling film. Reminds me how little we are allowed to think of the receivers of our 'smart bombs' as human beings.
