A damp and raw Saturday, filled with great films. I rolled out of bed early, and watched a wonderful documentary by Werner Herzog, LITTLE DIETER NEEDS TO FLY. This guy might be a neighbor of Werner's, they both live in norther California, and they are both from small towns in Bavaria. Just a wonderful film. Then, after a workout. I got on the Shadow, and attended the 130pm showing of FOUR BROTHERS at The White Oaks Mall. John Singleton's violent update of a John Wayne/Dean Martin cowboy film from 1965. It worked. Then, down to the library and I was able to loot the CD section for a bunch of stuff. I got THREE FEET HIGH AND RISING by De La Soul. I think I had that on vinyl, and maybe on tape. Also, a JAYHAWKS CD that looks promising. While I was burning the tunes, I watched a film that I have already rented several months ago. I didn't realize it, but it was worth seeing again. A magical film, dealing with 'un-magical' subjects, called ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW. It touches many controversial subjects with a new, and fresh light. This one is most definitely uplifting.

A misty, dreary day. Decided to take tomorrow off. Watch films, read, and sip Old Style. A Japanese thriller called "H" for tonight.
HiJinks on South 55 this morning:
Just north of Exit 37 (Livingston) a trucker hit Maher and snapped off his mirror. I was right behind him, and when he went by me, he just missed my semi. This could have been a very serious deal. In retrospect, I cannot think of a single thing to suggest to prevent this incident. If somebody is aiming at you, what the hell can you do?

This is a couple of years later. The date is Wednesday, October 10, 2005. I am waiting for Our Father Who Art In Phoenix to connect on the IM Chat. It looks like he will be a no show for this evening. Nothing much to report to him, but I did want to tell him that I was able to rent a brand new Harley FatBoy for the couple of days that I will be in San Diego next month. I wanted him to check out Google Images and get a look at the bike. They tell me that it is the Fifteenth Anniversary of the FatBoy, so the bike is all tricked out.

Today, I took the crane trailer to Quincy to pick up a heavy reel of cable to be sent back to Indiana. I had the reel on the truck in less than twenty minutes, and then I went into the office and got Apple Ipod on the phone and spent the next hour on hold, and then, arguing with clerks. They would not send me the box to send them the Ipod until I spoke with a tech. I obviously didn't have access to my computer, and the Ipod was not with me, and there is no fucking way that they will be able to get it to work. I have been through this twice before, and each time it is the same. The Ipod is not being recognized by the computer. We go through the same painful song and dance, and then they end up sending me the box so that I can ship it back for a repair. (see I BOUGHT A HEADACHE- The Replacements).

Well, looks like no IM tonight. Wonder what the problem is? And, I promise to make an effort to keep up on the posts for this blog. seeya..
